Gauguin’s World

Below are some of my favourite works from the French post-impressionist Paul Gauguin (1848–1903) from his recent exhibition at the NGA in Canberra. It was amazing I! His last self portrait was very simple, he was dressed very simplistic with a shirt and glasses, it looks very modern for that time.

The exhibition features many of his most recognised masterpieces, some of which were created in the Pacific region, the exhibition offers a new perspectives on Gauguin’s life and work, his artistic influences and networks, as well as his historical impact and contemporary legacies.
