Since I started drawing as a child, I have always been fascinated with Marilyn Monroe. I have studied her face so many times and have enjoyed drawing her. She also had a stutter like myself, so when watching her movies I’ve been curious in how she used her speech technique to control her stutter. She still did a pretty good job at it.
Marilyn: woman behind the legend was a great exhibition. Going through the rooms, it was great to see so many unique things such as: the hospital she was born in, the wedding ring from Joe DiMaggio to the personal handwritten letters and drawings she made. Some of the photos I recognise from her ‘Last sitting’ in the 1960’s. I own that copy of the book, which I found many years ago in a Canberra Lifeline book fair.Below are the photos I took of my time in Sydney. Hope you enjoy them as I did.
