


Established in 1976, Hawker College is a senior secondary college in the ACT. It caters to students completing their final two years of secondary education, it offers a wide range of curriculum choices.
Construction of Hawker College, which was undertaken at a cost of $3.3 million by Jennings Industries Ltd, began in January 1973 and was completed in December 1975. Hawker College is located on the site of the original Kama Homestead.
Vlad Mosmondor graphic designer, designed the original Hawker college logo in the 1970’s. It’s been published in various international acclaimed logo and branding publications.
One in particular by David E. carter (November 24, 1942 – April 24, 2023) was an American businessman and writer on graphic design, logo design, and corporate branding. He wrote many books on trademark and logo design and won a number of regional Emmys for his local television productions. After moving to Sanibel Island, Carter had teamed with Pfeifer Realty Group owner Eric Pfeifer to make several historical documentaries about Sanibel Island, including Sanibel Before the Causeway and Postcards and Pictures from Sanibel. Carter died on April 24, 2023, at age 80.

The simplicity and originality of the corporate identity Vlad designed, have stood the test of time. Recently Hawker college has celebrated its 40th birthday, and it’s still going strong in 2023.
